Perth’s video-first podcast studio in West Leederville
In short: Podwave Studios is a video-first podcast production studio based in West Leederville, Perth, Western Australia. Founded in January 2024 by Managing Director Ben Kosterich, Podwave Studios gives businesses, brands and creators a fully equipped, acoustically treated studio, a producer to run the technical side, and editing, strategy and promotion services under one roof. The studio is at Level 1A, 32 Harrogate Street, West Leederville WA 6007, and more Perth studios are opening in 2027.
Podwave Studios is a purpose-built video podcast studio in Perth where creators, brands and businesses come to grow a real audience. We provide the room, the equipment and the production team, so you can turn up, record and leave with content that looks and sounds professional.
The idea is simple: you focus on the conversation, and we handle everything behind it. Cameras, audio, lighting and editing are what trip most people up, and Podwave Studios takes all of that off your plate.
Every session is captured in 4K video and optimised for YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok.
Podwave Studios was founded in January 2024 by Ben Kosterich, its Managing Director.
Before starting Podwave, Ben hosted a podcast on novel food and alternative proteins, then produced and hosted an investor relations podcast, interviewing CEOs of publicly listed companies and hedge fund managers from around the world. After years of setting up and packing down equipment for every recording, he built Podwave Studios to solve that problem for himself, and then for other podcasters.
The wider team includes Chief Content Officer Pete Curulli, who has more than 20 years in the media industry, plus producers, sound engineers and editors. Meet them on our team page.
A video podcast turns one recording into a full library of content. Record once and you have a full episode for YouTube, the audio feed for Spotify and Apple Podcasts, and short clips for Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn. Seeing a host on screen also builds trust that audio alone cannot.
The audience is already there. More than half of Australians aged 10 and over (52%) listen to or watch podcasts every month, according to The Infinite Dial Australia 2025. Video is growing fast: in the PodPoll 25 survey, 44% of Australian podcast listeners used YouTube for podcasts in 2025, up from 30% in 2024.
The catch is consistency. More than half of podcasts that stop publishing do so before episode seven, according to Slice’s 2026 census of the Podcast Index, and only about one in four living podcast feeds has published more than 20 episodes, according to PodHood. The difference is rarely talent. It is a setup that makes recording easy enough to keep doing.
Podwave Studios is a full-service studio, so you can use us for as much or as little as you need.
If you are not sure what you need, a studio consultation or studio tour is the easiest place to start.
The West Leederville studio is equipped with five Sony 4K cameras on an adjustable ceiling rail, four Shure SM7B microphones, a Rodecaster Pro 2 audio interface, a Blackmagic ATEM Extreme ISO video switcher, a teleprompter and studio lighting with custom LED colours you can match to your brand.
The room is built for podcasting from the ground up, not a meeting room with a microphone thrown in. Nordic timber acoustic panels remove reverb and background noise. The studio seats up to four people, and the custom-built desk adjusts for seated or standing recording. It is temperature controlled, with wifi and coffee on site.
A Podwave Studios session is designed to be simple: you book, arrive, sit down and record.
The Podcast Package is the easiest way to start, at $1,375 inc GST. It includes 60 minutes of studio time with a producer, post-production editing, a bonus short clip for social media that matches your branding, and one round of editing revisions. Extra editing or additional clips are priced on top.
Prefer to book studio time on its own? Studio hire is $435 per hour, with a one-hour minimum booking, and includes a producer valued at $150. For a first-time one-hour booking, the producer is complimentary, so your first hour is $285.
If you publish regularly, monthly packages add priority studio access, editing, social media shorts, distribution, hosting and thumbnails. Email support@podwavestudios.au for a quote.
